Ms. Baker has been employed with Franklin County Children and Youth Services since September 2015. She serves as a Caseworker II, performing intake services. Ms. Baker was selected by the STAR Committee from 9 nominations. Reasons for nomination included the following: “A few weeks ago I had a meeting with Cristin. She shared that she recently had to cover for a co-worker to take on-call duty. It wasn't her on-call shift and she had plans with her family that evening and weekend. When asked to take the shift, Cristin accepted to help out her co-worker who could not be on-call. While at dinner with her family for a celebration, Ms. Baker had to leave to respond. Over the course of the weekend she was up for a total of well over 24 hours to transport a child to a location. Although Cristin had a worker with her for the ride, she still had to be awake and alert to handle the situation.” “Cristin often handles incredibly difficult cases within Children and Youth Services. Ms. Baker is respected in the community by law enforcement and other agencies. It is clear that Cristin was willing to help her co-worker out who was unexpectedly unavailable. Working in Children and Youth Services is a very tough job and it takes a special person to do the work they do. Cristin is committed to the children in our community and it should not go unnoticed.” Ms. Baker’s outstanding characteristics have not gone unnoticed by her peers. The nomination forms describe her as a team player, dedicated, and committed to her career as a Caseworker II, handling intakes for Franklin County’s Children and Youth Services. “Children and Youth Case Workers are motivated by their love of kids—they want them to be safe. The work that Ms. Baker is being recognized for today is another great example of that,” said Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller. Commissioner Bob Thomas added, “You have to be dedicated and really care to work in this challenging position.” Commissioner Ziobrowski thanked Cristin for her dedicated service. The Commissioners proudly recognize Ms. Baker for her high standard of customer service, excellence in the field, and respect for the employees and residents of Franklin County.
