County Sets Intention to Award Judicial Center Bids

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners gave notice of their intent to award judicial center construction bids to three contractors.  County Administrator Carrie Gray explained that bid recommendations were given for the “lowest qualified quotes from responsive contractors.”

Lobar, Inc. of Dillsburg, PA will be awarded bids for General Construction ($23, 774,000.00), Pavers ($84,000.00), Carpet ($4,700.00) and Electrical ($2,957,000.00); Stouffer Mechanical Contractor of Chambersburg, PA will be awarded bids for Plumbing ($1,775,900.00) and HVAC ($5,798,000.00); and Landmark Elevator, Inc. of Hagerstown, MD will be awarded a bid for Elevator work ($761,430.00). The total amount of lowest combined base bids falls within the estimated project budget.

“Not only is this a good economical price, these are good local contracts,” said Court Facility Improvement Project, Clerk of the Works, John Boozer.

The Commissioners commended the work of the staff involved in keeping the Court Facility Improvement Project on schedule and within budget.

Construction of the Judicial Center is estimated to begin this September with renovations to the historic Old Courthouse and Courthouse Annex to follow.
