CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (December 7, 2021) – The Franklin County Commissioners and judges of the 39th Judicial District Court of Common Pleas are pleased to recognize Angela Mackley, who has been named the 2021 Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission (JCJC) Juvenile Probation Supervisor of the Year. Mackley received this award during the 2021 James E. Anderson Pennsylvania Conference on Juvenile Justice in November.

A Franklin County employee of more than 20 years, Mackely has held a variety of positions in the county’s Juvenile Probation Department. In January, she was promoted to deputy chief juvenile probation officer.

Mackley’s work extends beyond her supervisory duties as deputy chief. She actively engages in statewide juvenile justice activities as a member of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee’s System Enhancement Subcommittee as well as the Pennsylvania Council of Chief Juvenile Probation Officers’ Graduated Response Workgroup, Technology Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and as chair of the Victim Services Committee. Mackley is also a member of the Folium Board of Directors, a nonprofit organization committed to serving individuals experiencing adversity through trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.

Locally, Mackley re-introduced Youth Aid Panels in Franklin County to expand upon diversionary opportunities available to area youth. She works to build collaborative relationships and leads by example, coordinating efforts with the county’s Children and Youth Service to provide food for children and their families each Thanksgiving. She also assists probation officers who take youth shopping for school clothes.

“The Commissioners congratulate Ms. Mackley on being named the JCJC Juvenile Probation Supervisor of the Year,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller. “We express our pride and gratitude for the work she performs not only as a county employee but also as a dedicated member of the Franklin County Community.”
