The office investigates sudden, unexpected deaths and deaths as required by law. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office provides service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a dedicated team of investigators, transporters and support personnel. The Coroner’s Office staff prides itself in showing compassion to families in their time of struggle with the utmost professionalism and integrity.
Regulation and Oversight
The coroner is elected every four years and is directly responsible to the electorate. This position must be state certified by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Coroners Education Board.
