October 07, 2021
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the September 2021 Employee of the Month award to Rusty Waltz. Waltz has been employed with Franklin County since September 2013 and currently serves as a systems administrator in the county’s information technology systems department.
September’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received a total of 10 nominations for the September award.
When nominating a coworker, employees are asked to share a specific event or circumstance that makes an individual deserving of Employee of the Month. According to one nomination, Waltz was integral to the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services’ (DES) removal and installation of console furniture at the DES main dispatch center.
“This project was a huge undertaking, as staff were moved to an alternate facility. Rusty was involved from the start and continued in a detailed manner even after the new furniture was installed,” said the nomination form. “He was onsite many continuous days – even weekends – preparing for the removal of old cabling while ensuring our new furniture would be immediately prepared for a new design and layout.”
The nomination continued, “Rusty was extremely accommodating and efficient. He even coordinated with our other partners so that monitors and equipment were properly stored and ready for re-installation.”
Waltz’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. The nomination form describes him as detailed, engaged and caring.
The Franklin County Commissioners are grateful to Waltz as he exudes a high standard of customer service, excellence and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
