CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners, along with the Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs, announced today that the 2021 Franklin County Veterans Affairs Golf Tournament raised a record $23,802 to benefit programs and other services for area veterans.

The fifth annual event, held Sept. 3 at Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, featured an event-high 196 golfers along with prize drawings, raffles and in-tournament competitions for participants. Proceeds from the outing will directly support Veterans Affairs programs – including Operation Save-A-Vet, Save-A-Pet and Operation Rucks to Reins –  which are funded solely through community donations.

In addition to announcing the results of the 2021 tournament, the commissioners also recognized Penn National co-owner Patti Nitterhouse, Penn National golf professional Darin Peart, and tournament sponsor Kristin Shelter of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices for their leadership and philanthropy, which proved to be instrumental in the success of this year’s outing.
