CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners are pleased to announce the county is now accepting online donations to its Franklin County Veterans Outreach Fund, making it easier than ever to support the thousands of veterans who call Franklin County home.

To make a contribution to the Franklin County Veterans Outreach Fund, users can visit the Franklin County Veterans Affairs page on the online fundraising platform Givebutter, https://givebutter.com/franklin-county-veterans-affairs-outreach-fund. Payments can be made using credit or debit cards, Venmo or PayPal. Donors can choose to donate to a specific program or to the general outreach fund. Contributions can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one.

Launching this new method of giving comes days ahead of the seventh annual Franklin County Veterans Affairs Golf Tournament, set for Sept. 1 at Penn National Golf Club, Fayetteville. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Outreach Fund. The fund supports programs like Operation Save-a-Vet, Save-a-Pet, Operation Rucks to Reins, Franklin County MilitaryShare and the annual We Salute You Scholarship, all of which are funded through community donations.

“This new platform creates an even easier method to collect critical donations that benefit so many of our valued Franklin County veterans,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller. “We hope this platform will generate the kind of donations that will allow our veterans affairs team to do even greater things in our communities.”

Pennsylvania ranks fourth in the U.S. for the highest number of veterans, and Franklin County is home to more than 13,000 veterans. The Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to serving the needs of those veterans and their families through benefit coordination, advocacy and outreach.
