CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners, along with the Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs, are pleased to announce plans for the eighth annual Franklin County Veterans Affairs Golf Tournament, set for Aug. 30 at Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville.

“The Franklin County Veterans Affairs Golf Tournament is consistently among the best golf outings in our region, and it’s thanks to the support of our business leaders and our local community that we’re able to do so much for our veterans,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst.

Golfers will have the opportunity to play their preferred course, based on availability. The tournament will feature two winning teams – one from Founders and one from Iron Forge. Each member of those winning teams will receive a voucher for a seven-night resort stay for two.

New this year is a $50,000 hole-in-one contest. Additionally, winners of the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive contests from each course will receive a voucher for a five-day, four-night cruise for two.

Registration is $520 per foursome and includes greens fees, carts, a light breakfast, lunch, on-course refreshments and an appreciation gift for each golfer. The tournament will also include in-game contests, raffles, networking opportunities and more. Registration for the tournament will begin at 6:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and an awards presentation will conclude the day.

Franklin County Veterans Affairs is currently accepting sponsorships from interested organizations and supporters. Registration for foursomes will open at a later date.

All proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Franklin County Veterans Affairs Outreach Fund, which supports a variety of programs, including Operation Save-a-Vet Save-a-Pet, Operation Rucks to Reins, Franklin County MilitaryShare, Franklin County Veterans Affairs Outdoor Coalition, a free medical shuttle service, and the annual We Salute You Scholarship. The 2023 tournament featured an event-high, sold-out slate of 260 golfers and raised a record $69,042.
