CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the April 2024 Employee of the Month award to Dalton Daywalt during the board’s April 24 public meeting. Daywalt has been employed by Franklin County since March 2016 and currently serves as a probation officer with the Franklin County Adult Probation/Parole department.

April’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 24 nominations for the April award, four of which were for Daywalt.

“Mr. Daywalt has always treated the community and court-supervised individuals with dignity and respect. However, Mr. Daywalt recently exceeded the highest standards expected of Franklin County Government and the Franklin County Courts,” said one nomination. “Mr Daywalt encountered a disabled court-supervised individual who was virtually homeless. Mr. Daywalt first triaged the individual’s crisis by using techniques learned at various trainings and provided by the courts and Franklin County. He was able to secure housing for the individual almost an hour and a half away from Chambersburg. Fortunately for this court-supervised individual, Mr. Daywalt transported the defendant to that location so he could have a safe and secure residence.”

Daywalt’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. He is described as compassionate, resourceful, selfless, dedicated and a team player.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Daywalt on his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of knowledge, leadership and excellence to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
