Overview

Franklin County’s domestic relations department is responsible for all matters involving the support of spouses and/or children.

Franklin County’s Domestic Relations Section is responsible for establishing and enforcing child support and spousal support orders, establishing paternity, and locating absent parents to ensure support obligations are met. Our office is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Filings to establish or modify support may be done in the office or online through the PA Child Support website. Please note: personal electronic devices are not permitted in the Franklin County Judicial Center, Franklin County Courthouse Annex or the Franklin County Hearing Annex.

Scheduled conferences to establish and/or enforce a support order will primarily be handled remotely by telephone or through Microsoft Teams telephone or video. Please read your paperwork carefully to ascertain if you need to appear by phone, video or in person.

Scheduled appeal hearings will be held in person at the Franklin County Hearing Annex at 31 North Second Street, Chambersburg. If you are unable to appear in person, you must seek court approval to participate in the appeal hearing remotely.

Payments may be made in person at Domestic Relations. However, other methods of payment are available. Please see the Payment Options sheet under the Forms tab below. <strong>Fees</strong>

JCF: $40.25

Genetic Testing: $22.00 per person in Franklin County

The cost varies if the individual resides out of state, out of county, or if the individual is incarcerated.

There is a $35 annual federal fee paid by the custodial parent upon receiving $2,000 from October 1 through September 30 (federal fiscal year).
