Franklin County Commissioners Announce Schedule Of Evening Meetings In 2025

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners will continue to hold monthly evening meetings as well as quarterly “on-the-road” meetings across the county in 2025.

Commissioners’ public board meetings are normally held on Wednesdays beginning at 10 a.m. at the Franklin County Administration Building, 272 N. Second St., Chambersburg. In April, the board adjusted its schedule to include an evening meeting on the third Wednesday of each month. Once per quarter, the evening meeting was held at an off-site location in other areas of the county. Following the success of this change in 2024, the commissioners will continue this schedule in 2025.

“We adjusted our 2024 schedule in the hopes of making our meetings more accessible and convenient to our residents, and we’re happy to say the experiment worked and we were pleased with the results,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst. “We value public participation, and we had a strong showing of community support each time we moved our meeting around the county. Our hope is that more residents will take the opportunity to attend our meetings and connect with us in 2025.”

All evening meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. The schedule and location for evening meetings is as follows:

Jan. 15: Franklin County Administration Building;
Feb. 19: Greene Township Municipal Office, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg;
March 19: Franklin County Administration Building;
April 16: Franklin County Administration Building;
May 21: location to be determined;
June 18: Franklin County Administration Building;
July 16: Franklin County Administration Building;
Aug. 21: location to be determined;
Sept. 17: Franklin County Administration Building;
Oct. 15: Franklin County Administration Building; and
Nov. 19: location to be determined

The August evening meeting will be held on a Thursday due to a scheduling conflict. Also of note: there will not be an evening meeting in December.
