Franklin County Community Vaccination Clinic: Open for Appointments
Commissioners
April 21, 2021
Franklin County, in partnership with WellSpan Health, is opening a community vaccination clinic to help Franklin County residents get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“This clinic is the result of a true community partnership between Franklin County government, WellSpan Health, the Chambersburg Mall and the Department of Emergency Services. We encourage everyone interested in getting a vaccine to take advantage of this opportunity and make an appointment,” said Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller.
The vaccination site will open tomorrow at the former Burlington Coat Factory store at 3055 Chambersburg Mall on Black Gap Road in Greene Township. Hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11am – 9pm, with the last appointment scheduled at 8:30pm. The clinic is set up to vaccinate large numbers of community members while safely maintaining social distancing.
Vaccinations are by appointment only and walk-ins will not be accepted. Interpreter and translation services are available as well as equipment for American Sign Language communications.
Patients can expect a vaccination appointment to last approximately 20 minutes. The clinic will be using the Pfizer vaccine and plans to administer 1100 vaccines over the next three days.
“We are excited and very grateful to partner with our colleagues in Franklin County to create a space for residents to access vaccines in an area that is convenient . . . and accessible,” said Stephanie Andreozzi, co-lead of WellSpan Health’s vaccination team.
The site is anticipated to be operational for 3-6 months.
