CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – As part of Franklin County Sheriff Benjamin Sites’ overall plan to increase public engagement and access to critical services, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is happy to announce a continuation of a trial initiative which occurred in 2024. This initiative was designed to offer citizens a greater opportunity to obtain their concealed carry permits.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will accept and issue previously approved concealed carry permits from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the following dates:
- Feb. 15
- April 5
- July 12
- Oct. 4
The event will be at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, located in the Franklin County Judicial Center at 14 N. Main St., Chambersburg. Same-day applications and issuances are possible, but not guaranteed.
“Something I have heard for years is that Franklin County citizens have a hard time finding time to get their concealed carry permit during our normal administrative office hours. Parking, work and life schedules in general seem to make this difficult,” said Sites “My hope is to give citizens more opportunities to obtain their permits at a time that may be more convenient to life’s busy schedules.”
