rabbittransit – Microtransit To Expand in Franklin County
Commissioners
April 10, 2024
Chambersburg, PA – As of April 15, rabbittransit will again expand their microtransit service, Stop Hopper, to a new area in Franklin County – Fayetteville. Stop Hopper enables residents to schedule rides on smaller, neighborhood friendly-sized public transit vehicles.
Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst stated, “Stop Hopper has been a very popular and successful program in Franklin County. We’re excited that the program is now expanding, and even more residents can take advantage of this affordable transportation option.”
Stop Hopper riders can travel anywhere within the designated zone by requesting a ride using the Stop Hopper smartphone app. Following a ride request, the app provides passengers with an estimated pick-up time. Passengers are picked up in accessible vans and taken to their chosen destination within the designated zone area. The app also tracks rides in real-time and alerts passengers when their ride is about to reach their desired destination. The Stop Hopper app is available for download from the App Store or Google Play. Riders can also call rabbittransit customer service to request a ride by dialing 1-800-632-9063.
The Stop Hopper service will be available from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is $2 per ride and free for registered seniors 65 years and older with a registered free fare ID card. Vehicles are ADA accessible.
