CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (December 29, 2021) – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the December 2021 Employee of the Month award to Benjamin Sites. Sites has been employed with Franklin County since February 2011 and currently serves as the chief deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
December’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received a total of 10 nominations for the December award.
When nominating a coworker, employees are asked to share a specific event or circumstance that makes an individual deserving of Employee of the Month. Sites’ nominations highlight his leadership skills and the significant role he played in ensuring the county’s new judicial center was safe, secure and ready for occupancy.
“Anyone who knows Ben can clearly see that he is passionate about the work he does serving our community and is committed to making a positive impact,” said one nomination form. ”He truly cares about his employees and always has their best interests in mind. Ben continuously steps up to the plate and is willing to volunteer his time and expertise.”
Another nomination added, “In addition to his daily job duties as chief deputy, Ben has taken it upon himself to ensure the safety of his staff, county employees and citizens alike in the daunting move to the judicial center. With his expertise and observant eye for security and safety issues, Ben has been an integral factor in the successful completion of the project” while having “a cheerful countenance at all times.”
“Ben’s herculean efforts to complete the security, access and control tasks needed for the new judicial center went above and beyond what he should have had to do in his role as chief deputy sheriff,” cited another nomination form. “He has been a key part of the project team over the life of the project, but he really rolled up his sleeves and sacrificed his time as well as his talents to do whatever it took to get the project finished.” The nomination went on to thank Sites for “keeping the team goal in mind” over his own individual needs and “for being a role model for us all.”
Sites previously received the March 2018 Employee of the Month award and has since been nominated for recognition on numerous occasions.
Sites’ outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. The nomination form describes him as a team player, diligent, personable and a selfless collaborator.
The Franklin County Commissioners are grateful to Sites as he exudes a high standard of customer service, excellence and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
