Victim Awareness
The Victim Community Awareness Class is a one day, four hour program facilitated by Juvenile Probation Officers and our Victim Advocate. The program utilizes the Impact of Crime Curriculum written by Valerie Bender for The Center for Victims of Violent Crime. The program goals are to increase youth’s awareness of their victims and the community, and to allow youth to acknowledge how victims were affected by their crimes and offensive behaviors. The class addresses each of the Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) Principles of accountability, competency development, and community protection.
