Preparation for the demolition of the Wogans building at 56 North Main Street will begin on Sunday, April 7th. The construction fence around the building will be expanded into the parking lot of King Street Church after church services.
Traffic on North Main Street will shift to one lane beginning on Monday, April 8th and fencing will extend into the street. Five parking meters in front of the project site on the west side of North Main Street will be bagged and inaccessible during the demolition. Traffic patterns should return to normal Monday evening.
On Wednesday April 10th, traffic will once again be reduced to a single lane to accommodate digging that will determine the location and depth of sewer and storm water lines to calculate their slope for proper flow. This work is anticipated to take two days. The street will then be reopened and west-side metered parking spaces will be available once again.
The demolition of the Wogans building will be completed prior to church services on April 14th. For more information on the project, please visit www.franklincountypa.gov or e-mail: facilityprojectinfo@franklincountypa.gov.
