Franklin County Commissioners Bringing Board Meeting To Path Valley

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners are pleased to announce the board’s Aug. 21 public meeting will be held at the Fannett-Metal Elementary School.

The Aug. 21 meeting will be the second of the commissioners’ quarterly “on the road” public board meetings to be held at off-site locations around Franklin County. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the school located at 14823 Path Valley Road, Willow Hill.

Commissioners’ public board meetings are normally held on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Franklin County Administration Building in Chambersburg. Earlier this year, the commissioners announced plans to host an evening meeting on the third Wednesday of each month with one quarterly meeting to be held at an off-site location. In doing so, the commissioners are offering residents who may not be able to attend daytime meetings a greater opportunity for public engagement. Additionally, by moving meetings to other spots in the county, the commissioners hope to make attending meetings more accessible and convenient for residents who live outside of Chambersburg.

The schedule and location for evening meetings is as follows:

  • Aug. 21: Fannett-Metal Elementary School;
  • Sept. 18: Franklin County Administration Building;
  • Oct. 16: a Washington Township location;
  • Nov. 20: Franklin County Administration Building; and
  • Dec. 18: Franklin County Administration Building

Additional information on the commissioners’ third off-site meeting location will be announced at a later date when details are finalized.
