Franklin County Holding Open Interviews For Correctional Officers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Human Resources department will host open interviews for entry-level correctional officers for the Franklin County Jail from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 12. These on-the-spot, open interviews will be held at the Franklin County Administration Building, 272 N. Second St., Chambersburg.

 

In this role, correctional officers oversee the custody, supervision and non-professional counseling of male and female inmates on assigned shifts. Ideal individuals for this position are those looking for long-term careers in the criminal justice field, have an interest in law enforcement and those who want to make a difference in their communities. Candidates applying for this role must have a minimum high school diploma or a GED.

 

Entry-level correctional officers receive a starting salary of $21.50 per hour with pay increases upon the successful completion of a probationary period and academy training. The Franklin County Jail also offers opportunities for career advancement, leadership development and specialized training in areas such as instructor development, field training, central booking operations, and the jail’s CERT and hostage negotiation teams. 

 

Franklin County employees receive 24 paid days off each year along with 11 paid holidays. Employees are also eligible for a tuition reimbursement program, pension plan, health insurance, voluntary benefits and much more.
