Franklin County Area Agency on Aging Receives Highest Rating

Franklin County Area Agency on Aging’s Older Adult Protective Services program received a “green” rating after an annual monitoring visit by Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) in April 2018. Electronic documentation, policy and procedure, and hard copy consumer files were reviewed and measured against the Pennsylvania Code book regulations for Older Adult Protective Services programs. The green rating is given to counties with highly effective programs.

After a May 2017 monitoring visit, Franklin County Area Agency on Aging (FCAAA) program received a yellow rating, narrowly missing the “highly effective” status by less than 1% on the ratings due to issues with paperwork processing.

“I am very proud of the Protective Services program we offer here in Franklin County,” said FCAAA Director and interim Protective Services Supervisor Traci Kline. She commented on the primary Older Adult Protective Services workers by saying, “Ashley McCullough and Andrea Mauck are fantastic advocates for our seniors, and I know our seniors are well protected in their hands.”

The recent monitoring visit showed FCAAA with a 100% rating in:

• Report and Care Plan documentation
• Initiated investigation within appropriate timeframes & w/ correct contact as dictated by category
• Consumer involvement in the plan of care
• Risk for the consumer eliminated or reduced
• Investigations completed within 20 days as required by law

“This office serves some of our most vulnerable citizens, so we’re very proud that the agency’s excellent work has been recognized in this way,” said Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller.
