CHAMBERSBURG, PA (Sept. 1, 2021) – Today the Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the August 2021 Employee of the Month award to Michelle Carrington. Carrington has been employed with Franklin County since October 2020 and currently serves as a Caseworker I – Ongoing in the county’s Children and Youth Service department.

August’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received seven nominations for the August award.

When nominating a coworker, employees are asked to share a specific event or circumstance that makes an individual deserving of Employee of the Month. One nomination cited how Carrington went above and beyond to assist Fulton County Services for Children with a specific incident that occurred during her weekend on-call shift.

“Michelle took the initiative to research the child’s location, collaborate with Fulton County, and attempt to conduct a home visit, if needed,” said the nomination form. The Fulton County office also expressed its appreciation for Carrington’s prompt response and eagerness to assist with the case.

The nomination went on to discuss how Carrington often assists coworkers with cases after hours as well as her willingness to accept challenging cases, engage families and seek solutions.

Michelle’s effective, ‘straight-to-the-point’ communication skills allow her to quickly build a positive rapport with difficult families,” the nomination form said. “She is passionate about the families she serves and works tirelessly to find resources to strengthen the family unit.”

Carrington’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by her peers. She is described as resilient, perceptive, objective and flexible as well as empathetic and patient with the families she serves.

The Franklin County Commissioners are grateful to Carrington as she exudes a high standard of customer service, excellence and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
