New Franklin County Recycling Website Now Available

CHAMBERSBURG, PA (Sept. 8, 2021) – The Franklin County commissioners are pleased to launch a new recycling app that offers a more streamlined, interactive user experience.

A collaborative effort of the Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) departments, the new Franklin County Recycling and Waste Disposal Application, online at fcgis.franklincountypa.gov/recycling, replaces the county’s previous recycling website and provides a higher level of efficiency and functionality with improved search and filtering capabilities. 

The new app also allows users to filter their searches by specific recyclables and materials to identify appropriate drop-off facilities. Users can still search by location to find nearby recycling centers or waste disposal sites, including which facilities are open to the public or restricted to residents of a particular municipality. 

Franklin County residents are encouraged to utilize this resource to properly dispose of unwanted materials and recyclables in a safe, responsible manner. Doing so is an effective, practical solution that not only limits waste sent to landfills, but also preserves natural resources and quality of life.

While the Planning Department does its best to keep the information on the recycling website as current as possible, residents are urged to verify acceptable items with each facility before arriving on site.
