West Named Franklin County’s August Employee Of The Month

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the August 2022 Employee of the Month award to Zachary West during the board’s Aug. 31 public meeting. West has been employed with Franklin County since January 2021 and currently serves as a desktop support specialist with the county’s information technology services (ITS) department.

August’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received 21 nominations for the August award, two of which were for West.

“Zach tends to be our go-to IT guy in the human resources and risk management departments. He jumps in to help without hesitation and remains calm. Every time we see him, we say, ‘Zach is here to save the day!’” said one nomination form. “Zach helped me out recently with sound and microphone issues in room 106. He stopped to help me even when he had a meeting to attend. He stayed and explained to me what was wrong, which was greatly appreciated because doing so will help me resolve the issue on my own next time.”

The nomination continued, “Zach displays excellent customer service skills and shows a willingness to help. I've also heard positive comments about Zach from people in other departments, including a new employee, which means that employee received a good first impression of the ITS department.”

“Zach is always one of the first employees from the ITS department to respond when there is an issue,” said another colleague. “Zach greets everyone with a smile and will do all that he can to resolve an issue. He is quite determined and heads into every challenge with a positive attitude. Employees like Zach make Franklin County a great place to work!”

West’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by his peers. The nomination forms describe him as reliable, proactive, friendly and a dedicated team player with a positive attitude.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated West for his recognition and thanked him for his excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of customer service, excellence and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
