Move Planned For Waynesboro Senior Activity Center
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging will relocate its Waynesboro Senior Activity Center to a new space at 11359 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, this week.
County staff anticipate making the move Feb. 16-17, weather permitting. On those days, the senior center will be closed for activities, including lunch. Activities will resume as normal at the new location on Feb. 20.
The move will allow the Waynesboro Senior Activity Center to more than double its space from its current location at the Trinity United Church of Christ on West North Street. In doing so, the center can expand its offerings, including the addition of new activities, a dedicated space for exercise equipment and a lending library.
“The commissioners wish to extend our thanks to Trinity United Church of Christ for its many years of service to the Waynesboro area’s older residents, and we look forward to the expanded service offerings at our new location,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dave Keller.
Franklin County’s eight senior activity centers offer a variety of social and educational activities, crafts, clubs and health programs. Daily lunchtime meals are also available by reservation for a small donation.
