Hazard Mitigation Plan Kick-off & Risk Assessment Meeting
Franklin County Public Safety Training Center
3075 Molly Pitcher Hwy
Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Departments: Department of Emergency Services,
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Franklin County Department of Emergency Services will host a combined kick-off and risk assessment meeting as part of a five-year update for the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The meeting will be held from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Franklin County Public Safety Training Center, 3075 Molly Pitcher Highway, Chambersburg.
This plan outlines the natural and man-made hazards that are prevalent in Franklin County and proposes actions or projects that can be implemented ahead of disasters to mitigate the loss and damages.
The HMP is a foundational document that helps define the threat environment for all emergency preparedness and planning efforts in the county and supports the goals and objectives identified in the Pennsylvania State Hazard Mitigation Plan. More importantly, the HMP enables the municipalities in our county, which adopt this plan, to compete for federal disaster mitigation funding.
The current Hazard Mitigation Plan can be found at: https://www.franklincountypa.gov/index.php?section=des_mitigation_plan.
