CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin County Commissioners proudly presented the February 2023 Employee of the Month award to Krista Mock during the board’s Feb. 22 public meeting. Mock has been employed with Franklin County since October 2020 and currently serves as a correctional officer at the Franklin County Jail.

February’s Employee of the Month recipient was determined by the Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) Committee, which received seven nominations for the February award, one of which was for Mock.

“Officer Mock, working a female unit, found contraband on an inmate during a strip search after the female was working kitchen duty detail,” said the nomination form. “She was able to find the contraband using her spectacular observation skills. Officer Mock remained professional and handled the situation well.”

The nomination form continued, “Officer Mock is always willing to help anyone. It doesn’t matter what it is; she will jump right in and help. She is very resilient and always smiling. Regardless of the situation, Officer Mock is always consistent, whether it be on a male or a female unit. She is very honest and forgiving and always shows up to work in a good attitude, regardless of what problems of her own she faces. She always helps others before herself.”

Mock’s outstanding characteristics are attributes that have not gone unnoticed by her peers. She has exhibited incredible attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of her job duties and a dedication to her work that keeps both inmates and her fellow jail staff safe.

The Franklin County Commissioners congratulated Mock on her recognition and thanked her for her excellent work and for exuding such a high standard of customer service, excellence and respect to the employees and residents of Franklin County.
