2020 Franklin County Nursing Scholarship - Deadline Extended
The deadline for the 2020 Franklin County Nursing Scholarship has been extended to 4:30 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Due to unprecedented circumstances, the deadline for the 2020 Franklin County Nursing Scholarship is extended from March 26, 2020 to 4:30 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Please submit all information, with the exception of the high school guidance counselor reference and an official transcript, to hr@franklincountypa.gov. Applications may also be mailed to Franklin County Government Attn: Human Resources 218 N. Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 and must be postmarked by April 2, 2020.
From there, Human Resources staff will work with local high schools to obtain transcripts, etc. once all applications are received.
The 2020 Franklin County Nursing Scholarship is currently open to all high school seniors living and attending high school for at least 1 consecutive year in Franklin County, and who have been accepted into an accredited four-year nursing program.
Applicants are required to include essays, briefly indicating their short and long term goals, as they pertain to nursing school.
Letters of recommendation are required of each applicant’s high school Guidance Counselor, as well as two other adults. Every applicant is also required to submit a copy of their official transcript. A stronger consideration will be given to students requiring financial assistance.
There is an extraordinary demand for skilled nurses in the area. Six $2,500.00 nursing scholarships have been awarded in 2017, 2018 and 2019, to deserving area high school seniors who are pursuing a career in nursing. Funds were directly applied toward tuition and/or room & board, per the student's request.
These scholarships are non-renewable.
